Hello again.
I’m Carol Lamb, Certified Adult Chair® Coach. I am so glad you are here with me.

Transitions in life, whether planned or unplanned, represent life changes. In order to navigate them in a way that allows us to thrive and move forward in our lives, it is important that we recognize that we are moving into a new role or stage of life and the emotions that come with that. These emotions, reactions, feelings, words, and/or behaviors today can help guide us back to our authentic selves.

That’s where I come in as your transition coach. I will help you identify and process the changes in your life and the emotions you’re feeling, understand where they come from, and use them to uncover who you truly are on the inside. Through our work together, you will identify and embrace who you are today and who you want to be in your new role.

I have been through many, many transitions; many with incredible joy, some with fear, some with great sadness and pain, and some with just plain surprise…even when planned

I am one of thousands who have either already retired or are planning to in the next few years. In fact, I have retired three times already…twice from a Fortune 500 Company and once as a Major in the U.S. Army after four years as an active duty Marine Corps Officer.

My longest career lasted 45 years, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. As a rookie, initially in sales, I purchased my first new car—a fire-engine red sports car because it made me feel sexy. A few years later, as a new manager, I bought a four-door red cranberry sedan because it made me feel successful (I eventually sold it to my mother because it also made me feel old). My work, and what it allowed me to accomplish for myself, contributed to my sense of who I was. Work also gave me close relationships with colleagues who felt like an extended family and a shared sense of purpose. We laughed and cried together, won and lost together, competed and teamed for all of those years.

Retirement was the plan, and I knew when it was time. But I realized very quickly that retirement is so much more than a solid financial plan. It is recognizing that you may have more time than you ever thought to do the things you like to do and see the people you care about. BUT many of those people are not retired and don’t have more time.

Questions started to arise like: “Now who do I plan to have lunch with? How many days can I play golf and with whom? Do I enjoy traveling alone? Is my spouse/partner always available to do things with me? Does anyone care what I am doing each day? Do I want to watch all of the Law and Order reruns…again? Babysit five days a week? Should I find a part-time job? Volunteer? What do I WANT TO DO? WHO do I want to be now?”

It can be so much to think about.

Through solid coaching and proven methodology and tools, my world changed from one filled with anxiety and unknowns to one of joy and anticipation of even better things to come.

In addition to work transitions, I have traveled and moved, lost a parent, gained a step-daugher who I adore, lost my partner and soulmate to cancer, and was fortunate enough to witness the birth of my two grandchildren who call me “Grammy.” A life full of transitions. And thankfully, a life where I hope and expect many more.

Because I can’t seem to stay retired for long, I decided to pursue a new career as a coach, helping others navigate the transitions of their lives. I will work with you to discover a new understanding of who you are in your new role. I will guide you to achieve a better understanding of the parts of you that have been present but not recognized and other parts that are no longer serving you in a healthy way. We will work together with action plans and tools that will assist you in gaining awareness and perspective on the integration of these parts of you.

With my full attention and help, you will establish a route to living your best life, accomplishing your goals, thriving in your new role, and being the best that you can be in that role or any role you choose to fill, whether personal or professional. You will get back to the essence of the true you.

I look forward to helping you with compassion, kindness, and guidance to help enable you to live your healthiest life.

TESTIMONIALS

  • Carol is one of the most authentic people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. Her authenticity enables her to quickly develop trust with others.

  • I didn't have a clear idea of why I was there to begin with and Carol did a wonderful job listening and gently nudging me in the direction I needed to go during our session. To my surprise, I was able to access a part of myself I had been ignoring and she helped me release some emotions that I can now see have been holding me back. Very happy I decided to speak with her!

  • Carol is a kind and caring person which is readily apparent in her coaching skills. Thank you.
